Astro3DBol Archaeoastronomy Educational Kit, Bolivia

The Astro3DBol project is developing and distributing Archaeoastronomy educational kits in the context of the Tiwanakota culture of Bolivia. The target audience are educators and those interested in Astronomy and the pre-Inca cultures of Bolivia who may develop a thematic class of Tiwanacota Archaeoastronomy. The products of the project are didactic kits, workshops for the use of the kits and their dissemination to the general public with free access. The project consists of the development, 3D modeling and manufacture of the kits through the participation of students and professionals in the area, the creation of workshops for a sample of teachers and educators. Supported and developed by the FESA Foundation, OAD – IAU and NAEC Bolivia.

The main event, a training workshop and provision of free kits aimed at educators was held on Saturday, July 9, at the facilities of the San Agustín Educational Foundation (FESA) – Cochabamba. The sessions focused on education, astronomy instruments, technical analysis of data, archeoastronomy and future educational projects of the Foundation. Remaining activities of the project are focused on the manufacturing of the kits.
