The Haiti All-Sky Camera (HASC) plans to install a specialized camera in Haiti to view and record the night sky. Students from Universite Quisqueya (UNIQ) and Ecole Superieure d’Infotronique d’Haiti (ESIH) along with students from University of Maryland (UMD) will collaborate on code (python programming) to automate the image (data) collection, process the images, inventory the images (build a database of interesting observations), and showcase the results on the web. The collected imagery will also serve as a hook to teach students (and the public) about meteors, constellations, motions of the night sky, light pollution, and other aspects of astronomy.
