Project Description:

The main objective of this project is to start building an infrastructure of solid graduate programs in the Arab world. Interest in astrophysics in Morocco and Arab countries is growing rapidly. However, it lacks the critical mass of professional astrophysicists and graduate programs that can contribute to the development of the research in this field.

This winter school is a starting essential step not only in providing fundamental knowledge of astrophysics and data analysis skills to advanced undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Arab world but also an opportunity to expose them to existing research activities in order to establish collaborations between different groups. This will enable students (guided by their research advisors) to actively participate in international research projects as well as initiate research projects of their own.

The winter school at Cadi Ayyad University will focus on statistical data analysis and data mining in various astrophysical fields.
