Astro Party 2014, “The Universe in our School” was held in Baykal village, Dolna Mitropolia Municipality, Bulgaria on the 9th and 10th of May 2014. The project was led by Ivo Jokin and was completed successfully with 84 participants (23 teachers, 45 students, 12 guests and 4 volunteers).
The program included activities with students and teachers who, in their work, aim to incite interest in both sciences physics and astronomy. The event was included in the Bulgarian national calendar for extracurricular activities of the Ministry of Education and Science for the academic year of 2013/2014.
Goals of the project:
– to popularize and spread knowledge of and achievements within astronomy among students
– to create and develop interest in amateur astronomy, observation and astronomy activities
– to acquire skills for practical application of the physical knowledge in explaining unknown phenomena, carrying out and planning of tests and experiments
