Hands-on Astronomy Workshop for School Teachers

Astronomy Workshop for School Teachers, 30-31 October 2020

Using astronomy as a tool is most effective since astronomy incorporates various disciplines in science like mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. The workshop was valuable for teachers keen to find new and innovative ways of making science more engaging.

The course was conducted via Zoom and attended by almost 100 teachers. It covered topics like: Day-time Astronomy activities, Sun-Dials, Optics, Telescope Malking and a basic introduction to Astronomy. We also had a Panel Discussion on application of Mathematics and Physics concepts in Astronomy. Participants also received kits for the hands-on sessions and Certificates on completion. (68 astronomy kits delivered to school teachers all over the country)
